Environmental Policy

By recycling as much as we can
We recycle newspaper, magazines, cardboard, plastic, glass and cans.  We also recycle all food waste.

We have a towel policy
Towels placed in the bath or shower tray will be replaced with fresh ones.

We use environmentally friendly cleaning products.

We produce our own electricity with photovoltaic panels
Which we use ourselves or export to the national grid.

We use LED or higher efficiency light bulbs throughout the property without compromising the quality of lighting.

We save rain water
By collecting and storing in the water butts around the house to use in the garden.

Sourcing local produce
We source the majority of our produce locally, and in most cases directly from the producers.  This ensures quality and freshness and keeps our mileage to the minimum.

Guests staying at Alkham Court–we encourage our guests to stay longer, explore our local area and use public transport.  We have maps and information on local walks available for our guests to borrow during their stay.

Our wild flower meadow
Next to the house has been sown with a mixture of wild flowers and grasses to encourage wildlife.

Our farm
Is part of a national environmental stewardship scheme which activly looks to increase flora, fauna and wildlife for generations to come.
